Ok so long story leading up to my problem.
My fully functional ASUS pq5 pro with q6600 and sapphire 4850 is just sitting there.
It does not turn on, all wires are secured correctly, and the green LED on the board is on. The power button does nothing. Need some help troubleshooting.

If you want to know how it happened read below, beware I did not try to be neat I am really tried and frustrated after all of what happened.

I was helping my friend build his new Core i7 system, asus p6t, i7 920, sapphire 4890. We can't get his video to work. At first I forget the ATX +12V (up top by the heatsink/fan), fix that, still no video. Figure maybe hes got a faulty pci express controller.

Then I stick his card into my PC to test, my card into his PC. neither works, in fact my computer now will not boot up at all. The motherboard green light still shows up, but my power button now does nothing. I tried hooking his power supply to my motherboard (ATX and MOBO power only), and it did the same thing. Any idea what could have happened? We are sending his mobo and video card back (still has 20 days to return), but I have had my parts for the better part of a year.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try using less than 4GB of RAM first. My computer had the same issues until I updated the BIOS on my mobo.

That would fix the computer refusing to Power on at all? My computer literally does nothing (no fans even). Or are you suggesting that for the i7 rig?

Thanks that ram thing fixed my friends PC. Now we get video and his is working fine. The only remaining problem is my computer, my motherboard might be dead :(. Any other things to look for before replacing the board?
