So i built my sister a new rig last month and set it up to use microsoft remote assistance. Well she got a new internet provider(qwest communications) and now whenever i try to accept the invitation i get the message
"a remote assistance connection could not be established".

I'm guessing that the problem lies in Qwests firewall. There must be a way to do this however since quest has millions of customers.
Anyone know how this can work?

Is she on a private LAN(behind router)? Some DSL/Cable modem have built-in router; so when you plug the computer, you will get a 192.168.x.xx address instead of a global IP address. You have to do port-forwarding if this is the case. I would call Qwest to see if they can help.

Yes, default Qwest DSL modem has built-in router.

OP will need to have port 3389 forwarded.
