My full specs are in listed in my sig., but components in question are:
500w Fortron Bluestorm (year old)
X800XT Stock Speeds w/ V700cu (year old)
Dell 2001fp
I've been running this system for about a year and it's been very stable. In December I went from a 3200 winn to a 170 opp and switched from an ATI silencer to a Zalman 700cu.
Since installing the 170 I've been experimenting with OCing ie. running Prime95 alot and gaming. Until last night everything has been fine.
After about 5 or 10 minutes of gaming, my monitor blacks-out then goes into standby. The game doesn't crash, I just loose the picture. If I reboot everything is OK until I start gaming again.
I reinstered the GPU and checked all my connections, but still having the problem. My temps via Tray Tools is about 40/62, so I don't think heat is the problem.
I'm thinking my PSU is going bad, but it could be the GPU or maybe something else. Is there anyway to check the PSU short of dropping a new one in my system? Or is there a logical way to trouble shoot this problem. I don't have a spare PSU that can run this sytem or a spare GPU that can stress it either.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks,
L.J.
