Hello mobo gurus!

Ive assembled my new computer today, installing all the components into a Haf 922.

My mobo is the Asus P7H57D-V Evo

This mobo has leds showing possible "errors" in component connections etc. And the only LED that doesnt shut off is the PCI-E.

This mobo has the special sause thing in that it can split the PCI-e 16 lane into 2x pci-e 8 lanes. and Ive currently put my GTX460 into the x16 lane.

The mobo also has its own HDMI, DVI, DSub ports.

I know the LCD screen works as i just connected it to this laptop and it responded immediatly.

My problem in a nutshell: Why dont i get the LCD to respond when i hit the power button on the computer?

Im sitting here trying to figure it out. So all help is welcome

Ah, motherboard troubleshooting...got to love it!

I don't know what you have tried already, but when I have this type of issue...the first thing I do is work to get a BIOS or Boot screen...so to do that start simple.

unplug EVERYTHING!!! go back to bare motherboard and only power cables to mobo and the on/off and reset wires.

next plug in ONE stick of ram to first DIMM slot usually labled DIMM0. Make sure that your memory meets specs by type, number of chips, double sided...etc...they can get wierd sometimes.

Plug in a PC internal speaker if you have one or can find one. (this really helps for audible beeps).

turn on and listen for beeps.

This will establish if the Mobo can pass the basic boot with memory...next step is to check video...

If you didn't have a pc speaker then you likely missed the last step...so memory could still be the issue...so triple check that you are meeting all specifications.

there should be a jumper on the motherboard to reset the mobo to defaults...do that now!

not add in your vid card...make sure that if there are jumpers on the motherboard for it, that you are meeting the requirements...ie 8 v 16 lanes etc...if your card has 2 DVI connectors try booting with the LCD cabled to each one.

If you get a BIOS, you then need to start adding components and rebooting until you get the system together...

if you still don't boot, I would try to find another video card and work that angle or swap memory and work that angle...if both those don't give you anything, RMA the board.

you might also try calling support if you are confused about the 16 lane thing...that might have some wierd requirements.

hope that help a little.
