What's the best way to train a kitten to stop using my body as a ladder. Man am I sore! I have scratch and claw marks all over my body. :(

He wants me to hold him ALL the time so that's why he climbing up me.

I feel real bad now had to crack him on the fanny because he just did it again :(

Start wearing shorts and no socks, then he'll have trouble climbing up. At least I hope he'll have trouble.

Don't forget to grease your legs.

A squirt bottle squirt between the eyes when he is considering it or a swift wack is a good way to curtail the behavior. You should also trim is claws so he can't penetrate fabric or skin to make the climb.

I resorted to the swift wack after the 100th time of scolding him :( I feel sh!tty for swatting him :(

Our kittens would climb up my mom's leg everytime she was in the kitchen cooking or preparing food. She'd end up with claw marks in her leg and stuff.. but we just got them de-clawed, so now they still try to climb but can't. And they're still cuuuuuute.

squirt with water bottle.

I think I might buy one. I hate spanking him.

works better for training kittens than scolding grown cats, but I still keep one around for those times my cats scratch things they shouldn't.

It is something he will grow out of as he becomes older. Just give him enough attention and scold him when he tries to do it again.

Squirt bottle > whacking it.... due to the fact he'll not know if your going to pet him or hit him later on because your hand will remind him of being hit.

open up negotiations. Ask for his list of demands and while he's busy considering his climbing options, your SWAT team will rappel down around him and detain him. Once you have him detained, interrogate him for the location of his secret cat climbing base. Threaten to get a dog.
