Need help tracking down evil person

Long story short....invovled in accident, his fault (looking backwards while attempting to drive forward thru steady red light)... claims not to speak english, can't collect insurance...he's not answering calls, also he doesn't own the car (which belongs to someone else.)


Small claims court in NY dictates in auto claims, it must be owner against owner...unfortunately we only collected the drivers information. Not enough info to process claim since we don't have most of the owners info.

I have the following information:

Plate number (NY plate) AJG7003.
Also have driver license number (NYS license) 949 586 701.

I also have some addresses. If anyone can obtain their phone numbers, soc. security, credit history, spouses, kids, what time they went to the bathroom, whatever....it would really help. Otherwise I may have to do one of those pay for searches.

Find who owns the car and put some pressure on them saying that you're taking them to court instead of the other guy if they don't give you his name. Legally, you can go after the owner of the car instead. Make sure they know that you won't do jack to them if they help you put the heat onto the other guy instead.

same thing happened to me last spring...shady guy hit me in a parking structure then gave me a fake phone number...luckily i got his plate number and took the info to the local police and filed a hit-and-run report. i don't know how much it does, b/c there was minimal damage and my car got totaled a month later.

cant you goto the dmv or see if your insurance company can find out with the information you have? i would think it pretty easy seeing you have the owners license plate #

The police just wrote up an accident report...they don't really care. But I'm gonna go on over and see if I can make some friends in the local precint.

My insurance company isn't really involved in this since I don't have collision and its his fault. This isn't personal yet...however. I just want someone to pay for the damages.
