Ok so let me start off with im new to computers but am learning alot so would consider myself intermediate now haha. So as uve read i have a toshiba tecra A9 heres the specs:

Windows Vista Business 07'
SP2
Processor: Intel core 2 duo t7100 1.80GHz
2 Gigs of ram flat
64-bit

Now if you check the specs online it is suppost to have a nvidia quaddro graphics card..and so said the "vender" i bought it from ( aka hes a wannabe comp tech ). Nonetheless this is my dxdiag display spec:

Now out of the gate im gunna let you know this isnt the first computer ive had from the wannabe vendor. i had a dell d600, an hp desktop and now this, furthermore, this isnt the first time ive seen this chipset family card.

So my questions are basically wahat in the bloody hell can i do here??
Is there a way to change back to the nvidia quaddro graphics?
if so is it as simple as installing the correct software for it?
If not what can i do (if anything) to change/upgrade my graphics at all.

Main reason im getting this problem or realizing its existence is due to a game a recently tried to install (civilization 5) and had an error with txt in game and found out my graphics was the problem.

Any help whatsoever would be ever so much appreciated. Thanks very much

You need to check the actual serial number for that model to see if it did include the quadro. The problem though is that even if your system did include the quadro, it was likely the nvs130m, which is well below the required graphics for civ5.

Did you try to install the quadro drivers?

Thanks muc for the reply and honestly figured that about it not being above requirements. Thanks much. As for the software for nvidia, no i havent. im not the person to just do it im awful nervous of making the problem worse than better. but should i give it a try n see how it goes?, just dont want to attempt to change, it go aray n end up with no graphics at all, so i guess im asking if i do install it, and it doesnt work, can i reinstall my graphics driver im currently using without any special software or anything?. thanks again

What is your exact model number? I can help you track down the drivers if you want, or you could head to support.toshiba.com and do a little looking yourself.

Everything I can find on that model says that it doesn't include a Quadro card at all.

After a bit of looking , I'm going to agree with ViRGE here. The particular model of A9 you have is using the intel gma graphics. So it looks like the person you bought it off of was mistaken.

And thanks for you continued help with this problem my friend. One more question before i go toss this laptop through the vendors window, any way to upgrade from the standard intel graphics?
Again overly appreciative guys. Thanks

It's not really possible to just slap something in there. The only possibility would be to swap out the motherboard, basically not really worth the cost/hassle.
In dealing with the seller, please remember calm words usually work best. Show him your findings regarding the intel gma graphics.
