Need Help to test MOBO

My new system is not working. No power to fan. I tested PSU. PSU is fine. Now it's time to test MOBO. I connected PSU 24pin connector and 4 pin PIN to MOBO, CPU fan connector to MOBO, RAM and speakers.

Anything else I need to connect to see if it's working or not? DO I have to connect power switch pins from case to MOBO? I just wants to see if PSU fan and CPU fan power up or not.

THis is 945PSN intel MOBO with Pentium D CPU.

without jumping the power switch pins, I see no other way of turning it on, so yeah I would go ahead and connect it up.

Is there any way I can closed the loop without connecting power switch pin?

Short the pins with a screwdriver, just don't scratch the PCB.

Can I use one the jumper comes with CD/DVD writer?
