I apologize if this was posted in the incorrect forum, I wasn't too sure if it was a good idea to post in the software forum so I ended up in off topic.

I was asked by a family friend to help setup some sort of parental control on their childs machine. Apparently this kid is 11 yrs old and likes to lock himself in his room and surf for pr0n and his mother knows about it but doesn't know what to do (From what I was told the kid has a weird personality disorder). Anyway, I do not have any experience in any sort of parental blocking programs, I looked on google and have no idea where to begin.

If there's any AT parents out there who can suggest any type of software (preferrably free) to help monitor and block web activity that has questionable content, your input is much needed and appreciated. Thanks!

put it near the kitchen. if the kid still does it then send him away to a mental facility cause that would be fvcking gross.

Winner!

i second that.

Perfect solution.

QFT!

How about his punishment is NO COMPUTER IN HIS ROOM until he turns 18.

18? That's a bit excessive, but 11 is way too early.

Don't look at what? Pictures of unicorns? Reuters articles? Sports scores? You're going to have to be a bit more specific as I am definitely not following you.

Haha wow, you guys are great! With regards to taking the computer out of the kids room. That's exactly what I told their mother, however the excuse is that it is needed to do "homework".

Anyways I'm going to check out some of the suggestions you all have posted, Once again thanks for all the information :)

Homework cannot be done in the kitchen? Or living room?
