Need Help - T1

I need link to some kinda doc on the internet that'll show that a T1 will slow when someone transfers a large file through it. Anyone found such a document ? w/o QoS

err, it doesn't slow down, it mearly won't let others have as much bandwidth while the large file is being transmitted, you always get the 1.5mb transfer rate -overhead.

well thats what I meant.. if some one transfers a large file, the guy next to u thats browsing is gonna get nailed.. I end up qos http & ftp traffic to 8k. These people are going to suffer because some idiot dont know how the internet works and he needs to run his report in real time.. hahaha would be funny tomorrow.. going to espn.com haahha i tested it.. it is slower than a 56k modem

i remember the analogy being likend to a highway, and having big chunks, taking up the lanes.. the bigger the blocks, the higher the congestion..

if they can't understand things in an everyday concept.. i dun know what to tell ya

man I had qos on yesterday, they can't browse their webpages as fast and they cry like babies again..

hmmm, you could always tell them they need more bandwidth, and to add another t1, or step up to a t3.

the thing is we're moving in 1 month, they want to increase the bandwidth today, and it take 3-4 weeks for it to install, at the new office, I got 4 t1 coming, 2 bonded to make a 3meg pipe and will use bgp for redudancy and a little load balancing.. so theres no way to put it in and move the day after.. so they'll suffer
