I have a friend that uses AOL dialup. Retarded, I kn0w but he's a nice guy. Anyway, we just upgraded his 2 computer to Win XP Pro and now can't get the AOL connection to share.

It is set up to share but the strange thing is, in network properties, the it shows as disconnected even tho it's clearly connected to AOL and functioning normally. He was running IE on the other computer, btw, not trying to log into AOL from both machines.

Like I said, this was working under Win98se. Dunno if the above mentioned problem with AOL showing as disconnected is related to the problem or not but it seems like it could be.

Thanks

so you have dialup to AOL to PC 1, LAN from PC1 to PC2....

Not sure if ICS in windows supports AOL..you COULD try bridging the connections, but again, not sure about AOL craptastic software.

thanks. Like I said, it worked with Win 908se. I would think it would work with Win XP also and if it didn't, it would be common knowledge.

I wish I could get him away from AOL but he don't wanna hear it. Wish I knew how stupid people really were back at the dawn of the computer age. I'd be a second Bill Gates, LOL.

Anyway, I'm still looking for an answer and have so far come up empy.

btw: This is AOL 9.0 optimized.
