I believe your answer lies in SAMBA. It's a program that allows Linux and Windows interlopy using the SMB protocol, otherwise known as part of "Windows file and print sharing".
I don't use it a lot (don't have any windows box to share stuff with), but if you check it out, I beleive that will allow you to do that. If you use a distro like Redhat (or pretty much any distro) it should already be avaible for install. Check out the "server" sections of your setup stuff. Or goto your distro's website and see if you can find out details their. You should be able to find a rpm or whatever easily somewhere if you don't already have it installed.
