Ok, so I am trying to setup an ad hoc wireless network on my dad's PC so he can share his internet connection with one other PC in the house.
I have set up several ad-hoc networks before without any problems, but this one is starting to frustrate me.
I installed a USB wireless adapter on my dad's PC with no problems. I have used the adapter on other PC's recently, so I know it works.
I then went and created the ad hoc network in XP *BUT* even though it shows up and my dad's PC connects to it, no other computers in the house (my brothers, my laptop, etc) can see the network I created. It's like it's not broadcasting the SSID or something.
Also, when I open up the internet connection properites (it's a modem) and select the wireless connection in the ICS sharing options as the "home networking connection" and hit OK, the system just thinks forever and the dialogue box freezes and never goes away.
Any thoughts?
