I just installed a Syba Controller Card but when I connect a hard drive to it Windows does not see it in my computer.
BIOS sees it as a SCSI drive (NOT IDE 5 or 6) and now there's a RAID setup screen that pops up during boot after POST. Windows sees the drive in device manager, but labels the drive weird. The drive is a 160GB Hitachi but device manager displays the name as just a string of alphanumeric characters like a serial number.
Now, this card is an IDE RAID card, but I don't have RAID nor want it at the moment. Is this the reason this isn't working; because it needs two drives set up for RAID in order to work and be seen in Windows? Or can an IDE RAID controller card also function as a regular PCI IDE Non-RAID controller card?
