Okay, so here are my components:

- Intel C2D E4300
- Arctic Freezer Pro 7
- Gigabyte 965P DS3 Rev 3.3
- MSI x1950 pro 256MB
- Antec 480 Watt PSU
- 2x1GB Super Talent DDR2-667
- 400GB Seagate Sata HDD
- 16x Sony Nec DVD Burner SATA
- Sceptre 20.1" WS LCD Monitor
- Thermaltake Mambo case
- Vista Business

Question 1:

I was reading some stuff about the motherboard and its "jmicron?" ports? From what I understand, as long as I put the hdd and dvd burner on the intel ports (yellow), I won't run into any problems? There's two sets of intel ports - so four total.

Yellow -
Sata II 0
Sata II 1

Sata II 2
Sata II 3

Which one do I plug the hard drive in, and which one for the dvd burner?

Question 2:

My PSU and 120mm case fan both come with a 3 pin plug. They are for monitoring the speed of the fan while it is spinning, correct? There's only one 3 pin ports on the motherboard that I see - PWR_FAN. Do I connect the PSU's fan plug into the PWR_Fan? Where would I attach the 120MM fan plug tp? There's a SYS_FAN with 4 pins

Question 3:

I have two usb ports on the front, and they both have their own headers (?) to connect to the motherboard.

Shield

VCC
USB 1 (and 2) -
USB 1 (and 2) +
GND

This is how the plug on the motherboard looks:

F_USB1

0---- (1 empty, 4 pins)
----- (5 pins)

Here's a picture: usb.JPG

Unfortunately, the cables aren't arranged in a block with one keyed blank. So looking at my picture, how would I connect the wires?

Question 4:

My case also has one more set of headers that I'm not sure where to plug onto the motherboard.

First one:

GND
R-OUT
L-OUT
R-RET
L-Ret

I believe the R-OUt and L-OUT are Line out (right and left), but what are the R-RET and L-RET ?

The front of my case has 2 usb ports, a pink port for a mic, and a green port a headset.

(1) Plug the HD & DVD burner into SATA ports 0 & 1 ... it shouldn't really matter which goes to which.

(2) The 4-pin fan plugs on the motherboard should have a plastic tab on them thats oriented so you can connect a 3-pin fin connecter ... take a closer look. Refer to this link for connection instructions.

(3) This link shows a very clear layout of the pins on a usb header. This one should also be helpful.

(4) This link should be helpful for connection of the front audio panel.
