need help setting up 4 drives

I have 2 HD-both ata100
CDR
DVD

How should i connect the cables? Ive been told that it would be faster if I hook both HD the the same cable, but then ill have to hook the CDR and DVD on the same cable. I was told not to do that if i wanted to burn form DVD to CDR.

Can someone please help me!

Depends on what you do most often, transfer files from the HDs to the CDRW or burn directly from the DVD?

My CDRW has burn-proof, so it doesn't matter if it's on the same channel as my DVD drive. I also usually burn from the HDs, so I have the 2 HDs together, and the DVD and CDRW on the second channel.
