Don't buy into the WiFi on the Zune is does absolutely nothing as it is only meant to do device to device file transfer. Where as the Ipod Touch can do web browsing, and is a very slick design. Though I dount you're looking to pay $300 for one.

8GB isn't even enough for my music collection, screw that.

Not to mention the iTouch has issues similar to the iPhone where the touch screen loses sensitivity or freezes completely.

Apple is milking you guys for all they can, keep feeding them go ahead.

Oh and the wifi can sync your Zune with your library without wires if you wanted.

Well I for one don't need to carry my entire music collection with me. I used to be very Anti-Apple, but the ipod touch impressed me very much. I never have had an issue with it freezing up on me. The people that hare having the freeze ups are the ones that are jailbreaking them and putting 3rd party apps on them, most likely.

The new firmware will do wireless sync as well, but it's slow as ass.

So.... what did you end up buying, anyway?

I've had 4 ipods. 2 broke. One they wanted $299 to fix...I can buy a ipod 3 generations newer than it so I did. That one broke as well, and they want $130 to fix that one when I can buy a new generation one for only a bit more. Their warranty is crap and they expect you to buy the apple care plan to have any assistance.

That's why I dispise them. I went with a Zune because I needed an iPod equivelant and IMO I got exactly that and maybe a bit more as I use the FM tuner quite often.

As for carrying your entire music collectionit isn't about that. It's about me having lots of videos and all my music is 320Kbps AAC 48Khz. I would go lossless but I can't justify that much space for the little extra quality. The videos (DVDs, Anime, music videos) is what eats my space. I'm using about 20GB of my 80GB right now.

Yeah, it's nowhere near the bandwidth of USB 2.0. Especially so if you're doing large file transfers.

As far as paying to fix something that is out of warranty. Boohoo, any company will make you pay to have something fixed out of warranty. Apple makes the standard in portable media devices, get over it. There is a reason they are on top in this segment. It isn't because of marketing it is because of the quality of the product. You could ask anyone I know and they will all tell you I hate OSX. I hate the trendy vibe that apple uses. I hate apple computer products. Hell and as far as a MP3 player goes, the 1st iPods didn't impress me. The newer ones that play video and especially the iPod Touch are far superior to anything out there. If the Zune could implement the wireless so I could browse the internet it would be cool, but it would have to be completely redesigned.
I currently don't use the ipod because I upgraded to a Windows Mobile 6 phone that will play music and video and surf the web and is a phone. That is the only reason I stopped using the ipod. If I could have gotten and iPhone and used it on t-mobile without having to hack it I would.
