Need Help Selecting a Metal Detector

One of my kids lost a cherished pocket knife in the backyard... Looking for best bang for the buck Metal Detector to find it and other metal things that get lost...

Is there certain terminology or specs I should be aware of when selecting one?

For something as big as a pocket knife I wouldn't think you would need a very sensitive unit. I'd head down to the pawn shop or order one of those $39 specials from someplace like harborfreight.com.
