Need help ripping DVD

Hi guys, do you know if there's a software that allows me to encode segments from a DVD movie in AVI or MPG or MOV or any famous video format, but with work environment like Premier or After Effects or something like that. I mean what I need to do is rip certain segments from a movie to these video formats but have a display where I can view the actual movie and then mark the beginning, the end and say extract and bam it's out there.

I'm in a tight spot and I need to extract several segments for work.
