Need help restoring Windows programs

Hello there!

I'm having an issue and I was hoping somebody could help me! I finished installing an Asus a7n8x deluxe and due to a critical error, I had to reinstall Windows XP over an old Windows XP.

Unfortunately, even though all my programs are still in "Program Files", Windows doesn't have them listed in the Start menu nor have them start up properly.

Finally, My Documents seems to be empty now. Did I lose all those files?

Yeah probablly but you could try a recovery tool and see if the files still exist on your Hard drive.


With Windows XP you should have done a Repair job, it would have saved all apps and docs and loaded the new drivers neccessary for the new motherboard.


I've changed Windows .NET server around two times and did the repair and it worked with no problems.

I had tried Repair but it asked me for a disk... how do I make this disk to avoid future problems?
