Need help replacing the burner in my laptop.

eed to replace the cd-rw in my notebook. I have an HP Pavilion
ze4560us that I purchsed in October of 2003. I've never opened up my
laptop. Do cd-rw drives in notebooks all share a common form factor?

There are three drives I am looking at on Newegg.com.

The drive currently in my laptop is a GCC-4241N.

Over the years I've developed a bit of disdain for tray-loading notebook drives. Every time you open the thing, you expose the innards and risk damage to it.

I would take the opportunity to upgrade your notebook drive to a slot-loader if your notebook can fit the bezel:

Panasonic dual-layer DVD writer

Panasonic DVD-reader/CDRW combo drive

yes the last page on that does have a good word of caution, he used a compatible drive, some drives have different data connectors in the back, though most are the same, and alot of drives have different types of bezels in the front. The button to eject is in a different place on some of them and they wont line up if you exchange the bezel, jsut something to keep in mind if you want to continue to use the original bezel and look on the machine.
