I'd like to replace my power and HD LED's with a different, brighter color. How is this done?? Do you just pull out the old one, and plug in the new one? Just wanna make sure I don't fry something, so I thought I'd better ask. :) I plan on just getting some LED's from radioshack. Is there a certain kind I need to get?

You can't really fry LEDs without giving them way too much power. Just plug the new ones in, and if they don't light up, turn them around. Should work fine.

Just pull the led out and bring it into the store with you. You can probably match up the size and dimension or have the 14 year old kid there help you out. Im going to change mine as well. Nothing like a custom case to spice things up in the Dark! :D

ok I picked up some leds. got one blue for 2.99, and one red for 1.99.
Does the voltage matter??? The blue takes 5V, but the red takes only 1.7 . Is that ok?? The 5v blue was the only one I could find. thx

More voltage will (most likely) just make it brighter, I have never (really!) seen a LED fail. They have a life expectancy of like 500 years @ max volgate 24/7. They never get hot also... Plug it in and see :D

Woohoo! Both work great! I replaced my power led with the new red one (matches my intellimouse optical's led :) ), and stuck the blue on in for the HD led. All I can say is DAMN what a difference!!! These things are awsome! The red one is SUPER bright, looks like a frickin laser beam shootin out of the case. If anyone is looking to replace leds, consider this one. The specs on it are: 5mm, 1.7V . I forget the amperage, but I think it was around 20-30A The blue one is also very bright, but not as bright as the red one. Thanks for the help everybody!
