Need help removing video card hsf.

Anyone know how to remove the hsf off a Leadtek Geforce 3?? For some strange unkown reason the fan has died. It starts up every now and then but its a bit dodgy.

The problem is that the ram/gpu sink and smally crappy fan is one big unit over the card. Not to mention the fact that it clips around the card at the top. I could take the plastic clips out but I'm not sure what to do after that. I was planning on using something like a Crystal Orb. Is there any way I could just whack a fan over the top of it without having to take out the current hsf...? Any suggestions?

Thanks

My guess is its bolted on and adhered. So place it in a static bag after removing the clips\screws let it set for 15 minutes then remove the heatsink with the non serrated edge of a butter knife. It should just pop right off at that point.

Cheers!

I also have a GF3 card with a dead fan. The fan/gpu heatsink only covers the gpu on my card though, there are seperate ramsinks on the memory. I used a pair of pliers to squeeze the plastic clips holding the heatsink on and pushed them through. Then it was simply a matter of prying off the heatsink. I accomplished this easily with just my hands though. My card is a Visiontek GF3 TI500. Cleaning that messy adhesive pad off the GPU was the hardest part.
