Can anybody tell me how I would go about doing this?

I figure ebay is my best bet to get a decent yet cheap used radio (I'd like for it to have tape and casette, if possible).

But I don't know how I would find out whether or not it is "compatible" with a 93 tercel. And, once I get it, how exactly do I go about installing it.

Do people out there know of any good sites or resources?

Mucha graz.

uhhh you're welcome!

most likely you'll need some sort of kit that would let you connect your new headunit without having to cut the factory wires...

you can check out cr0tchfield.com to see which ones and what cables you might need... :)

i used to have a '93 tercel, and switching the stereo out was a breeze compared to some of the other ones i've done (i've probably installed over 30 in various cars)
