I am writing several summaries in MS Word 2000 for a class. I used a horizontal line to separate the different summaries. Line was created by typing --- and then hitting enter. For some reason, Word is now adding this line at the end of about half of my pages between paragraphs. If I delete the paragraph break, the line goes away. If I hit enter where I want to break the paragraph, the line appears. WTF? How do I permanently delete this line? Click here for a screenshot of the line I am trying to remove. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

it's possible that your paragraph style includes a border at the bottom of the paragraph. try looking in the Format | Borders and Shading dialog on the borders tab. see if it looks like it is putting a border at the bottom of each paragraph through some setting there.

I HATE THE BORDERS. seriously, they drive me crazy. try highlight all the lines near it, formating, then borders, then done. try going through the auto-format options to stop it. or sometimes ctrl z removes the autoformatting.

Thanks for the replies.. I think I have it figured out now. It was some stupid formatting BS. I just cut it out to notepad, pasted it back into Word, reset my fonts, and then I was ok. Thanks!
