hey guys, my girlfriend just picked up a gateway tablet. the model is like a CX260 or something. It was 1299$ at bestbuy. Well anyways, the computer was pre-loaded with a lot of junk. So i wanted to reformat it and give her a fresh start. Without all the free-trial offers and what not. Anyways, i looked thru the whole box for a XP OS disk and i didn't find any.

Is there a XP tablet edition version of XP out there that can be had? I have no idea how to reformat this.

I'm thinking the tablet Pc has no cd-rom drive in the first place?

Chances are, they included a "recovery partition" on the computer itself that you can press a button during boot to get into, from there you should be able to reinstall windows. Whether that reinstall willl include all the junk they pre-installed or not, I can't say.

There is a Tablet XP Version, it's also with the Media Center Edition addon. You just need to get those 2 setup discs, put in the Tablet edition Key and that will load Tablet Edition on there. You should probably call Gateway to see if you can acquire the OS setup disc. Sometimes they don't include it and might charge extra for it nowadays.

I believe he's talking about the Convertible Laptops that are tablets. Not just a Tablet PC itself.

there is a dvd-rw drive on there as well. I think i found a reformating partion on it not 100% sure. Do i really need to save the drivers on a dvd?
