NEED HELP QUICK!!

Friend of mine is trying to instal XPsp2 on a Maxtor hdd using SATA2, however as soon as he gets to mup.sys the system will hang and refuse to go on. Is it a problem w/ the OS CD or the HDD and SATA2?

Disable NCQ in the hdd properties through device manager.

Retry the SP2 install.

Perhaps you should rephrase your question if that's not what you meant.
