Need help putting pics on the net

I am a new father who is lucky enough to have a 6 hour buffer zone between me and the in-laws. Problem is, my wife takes pics of the boy almost every day and asks me to send them to friends and family which is becoming a royal pain. I can only email 1 or 2 pics at a time due to the file size and most of the relatives are still on dial up. What is the easiest and cheapest way for me to post these pics to the web for people to download at their leisure? I've thought about creating a Blog for daily updates, but I have never done this before. Any suggestions?

do you have some webspace from your provider????
in what format are you sending the pics ???

if you are using .bmp or some other huge format save your pics in .jpg

or use the atot picture service
