Need help programming Garage door opener with a 99' lincoln towncar

There is a built in garage door opener (im assuming) in the visor of my parents 99' Towncar, but they got it used and theres no owners manual. Any ideas?

Tried Google, got nowhere.

Well, typically there are two major ways to program the garage door opener:

1) Hold down until light flashes a few times, release, program. Light will flash when successful.

2) Hold down for a few seconds, program, let go.

Generally there will be a button on the opener that will allow it it receive new codes.....check the manual for the door opener.

1) Press the correct button on the door opener

2) Press the button on the car you want to open the door

3) Hope there is a flashing light of some sort to confirm that the new code is accepted.

The 3 buttons on the car will work 3 seperate things, you only need to use one to work the door opener.

I would ask any Lincoln dealership... i would ask my grandparents who both have new towncars, but they would be clueless 😛

Try holding down the outer 2 buttons for 20-30s, should start flashing or such. Then put your current garage door opener next to the visor-mounted one, and pressing and holding down the garage door opener along with the button you want to control the visor-mounted one, until that starts to flash. That's what the instructions were for my parents' new car, try it and see if that works.
