I have spent the better part of 3 days trying to get assistance in the OCZ forums with no avail. I am hoping I get bring my issue for you fellas to analyze and get your expert feedback and suggestions. But instead of me lingering on about what happened I am placing the log from my thread in their forums:

Hi

Can you please check the sticker on the side of your power supply and let me know the Amperage for the 12V, 5V and 3.3V lines. If you're getting errors in the first 4 tests of memtest that normally points to either a weak power supply or over heating or overclocked (too much) CPU

Thanks

Im really stuck trying to figure out the source of these failures. But what gets to me is how MemTest failed so horribly and Hot CPU Tester passed all my hardware. Hope to speak with you guys soon. Thx in advance

HOTcpu doesn't test the ram as thuroughly as memtest does. Try running a superPI 32m test as well, it's pretty sensitive to ram problems. What voltage do you have going to your ram, have you tried upping it to 2.8 or 2.9v? It could also be a compatibility issue with your motherboard as well.

And your generic PSU probably isn't helping much..16A on the 12v rail is really quite low for a 480W psu and I have never heard of that brand either..ack, especialy with a prescott and a 6800U..that could certainly be contributing to the problem..my 350w enermax has 26a on the 12v rail by comparison..

What problems are you having exactly? Anything else going on besides memtest failing?

The problem arised when pcpitstop rated my memory as condition yellow stating that it isnt performing as well as it should be.

Last night I purchased Hot CPU Tester under the pretenses that it is supposed to be one of the better diagnostic tools. I hope I did not waste my money. Let me know what you think of the utility!

Other than that the machine runs ok, it seems to be more of a concern that I know there is a possibility of failure rather than there being a failure.

Would you recommend me purchasing a new PSU? If so, what is a good power supply that can run my components and what wattage am i looking at. Hopefully right under 100 buks.

Thx alot and if you have a great recommendation of a diagnostic tool that is somewhat professional and inexpensive to free so that I can utilize it throughout my office I would greatly appreciate it.

Again Thx and hope to hear from you shortly.

There are a lot of good PSU's, Antec, Enermax, Fortron, OCZ, Seasonic, Sparkle. I am using a 460w enermax, and it works great so I would recomend it. I think I saw it for about $70 shipped on newegg.
