Hello i need some serious help. Ok well my northgate bridge fan was making a loud buzzing noise and was changing rpms. So i took out my motherboard and fixed it. Now i put my motherboard back in and connected everything, Now i can turn on my comp and all the fans and stuff turn on but my powersupply makes a weird screeching noise, and the comp wont boot up. So what should i do i dont know what i did wrong if someone could give me some advice or a motherboard cord refrence manual it would be greatly aprreciated.

Heres what i have.

ASUS A8N-Sli Basic nforce4 mb motherboard

600 watt powersupply

Well hopefully you guys can help thanks.

Open your case, and get close enough to localize the problem. A "weird screeching noise" sounds like something is hitting a fan, either on your CPU HS/fan, your power supply, or a case fan. Check for wires running near those fans, and if you find any, move them.

If you don't find any wires running near any visible fans, and you're sure it's from the power supply, you may have to open the power supply chassis to see if anything fell in the way of the internal power supply fan.

Check that, and if that doesn't help, get back with anymore info you have.

Good luck. :)

Same as above. Make sure you're real careful when you open up your power supply so you don't kill yourself, and it might void your warranty. Is it a mechanical noise or could it be the speaker?

I looked at the power supply and theres nothing wrong with it. I think i just dont have something hooked up right. The computer is either booting up when i turn it on but i cant see it because nothing comes up on the monitor. Or its not booting at all but i dont know. But nothing will come up on the screen. I hope that i just have something pluged in wrong or something. But my power supply is still makeing the screeching noise. So can anyone tell me where i can find a refrence where everything plugs in on the motherboard? thanks
