i am thinking of purchasing a biostar m7vig pro,
would you say that it is a pretty good motherboard?

I like the 6 usb 2.0 as well as the price

also i just have 2 more quetsions, hopefully someone out there can help

1) anyone ever heard of a s3 savage integrated video card? (is it any good?)
2) What is the purpose of a CNR slot, i was told it was for audio, can anyone confirm?

1)2D is fine, forget gaming.
2)Supposedly to save OEMs some $. Same with the AMR. If they're shared with a PCI, go with a PCI card.

AMR = Audio/Modem Riser, basically a add-in with a specialised slot.
CNR = Communication Network Riser, same crap, different configuration.

S3 Savage is a now obsolete video chipset, with virtually no 3D capabilities.

would bypassing the integrated video by adding in a new video card be a hard thing to accomplish?

also, what about the rest of the features of the MB?

and thanks for all the input thus far =D

Assuming the mobo has an AGP slot (many "cost-effective" boards with intergrated video do not), then you can. Most will automatically use the card in such an AGP slot, although older boards may need to have a jumper set to disable the on-board video.

i am using a Biostar M7VIT Pro and it is great the one thing is that i couldn't get the 4in1 drivers installed so i left them out. Other than that it is great.
