Need help please, serious A7V Win2000 problem.

I finally set up my new A7V and Tbird800, with my 2 HDs as masters on the ATA/100 ports and my 2 CD drives as masters on the regular IDE ports. When I first started Win2K after installation, it would start to load, then drop me to a blue screen about undetectable boot devices. I tried not hooking anything to the ATA/100 ports but same problem.

So I just give up, hook up my old MB, install the latest Promise driver on Win2K, and reinstall the A7V. Now I can get into safe mode after a while, but can't get into "normal" mode. It gets past the loading screens into the default light blue Win2K background color where it freezes. Sometimes I see an unmovable cursor w/lines through it.

Whew, can anyone help?

same exact setup for me, A7V, Tbird800, two Ata 100's, and two devices on other IDE port...boom!

BSOD on NT :(

Sigh...if I knew the solution, I'd be happy to tell you. But untill then, I don't know what to do :(

You have to hit the F6 key at the installation boot screen when first line appears starting the bootloader for NT4 and Win2k setup. This line appears whether you start the setup from the 3 disks or the CDROM. The detecting of hardware device I believe is the line. You have to have your NT4/Win2k driver files on a floppy to add additional device when first blue screen appears. You then insert the floppy with the *.inf and the driver files for your disk controller. Follow the onscreen prompts and then you can then proceed with a normal setup after that.

That's all there is to it.
