Need help please, external USB device problem.

Ok, I recently bought a new hard drive and installed it into my computer. It showed up fine, but now my other hard drive that is located in a USB external enclosure is not detected at all. I even reinstalled windows but no go. When I remove the new hard drive, it still does not show up. Any suggestions on what to do? If you need more specific info, let me know. Thanks in advance.
