I want to take an All-Inclusive vacation to either Jamaica or the Bahamas this Fall. Does anyone have any opinions on which resorts to consider? I am open for other Carribean Islands also.

Funjet has always been my best bet for all-inclusive packages to the carribean.

Last couple of times we went, both to Play del Carmen (near Cancun, Mexico), the trips ran around $700/pp for 3-4 nights, all inclusive with flights out of Houston.

I can highly recommend Iberostar resorts, the one we stayed at in Mexico was top notch. The trip before we had stayed at a slightly cheaper resort and the difference was amazing.

If you go to the Bahamas you must check out the Atlantis Resort (or even stay there if you can afford it).

Have fun!

I'm going to Club Med - Paradise Island the 4th weekend in August. I got a deal that was just a little more than Atlantis, and it includes food, drinks and activities. I 'm definitely gonna check out Atlantis. I was told it's within walking distance from the CM village, but I'll be the judge of that. Remind me after 8/28 and I'll report back.

I stayed at the Sandals Royal Bahamian for 7 days back in May. It was right around $7.5k, all inclusive, ocean front 1 BR, and limo transportation to and from the airport. Sandals usually gets mixed reviews, but we had absolutely no complaints about the service, food, entertainment, or the atmosphere. The drinks were also moderately good, but hey you could have as many as you wanted.

It was one of the best vacations I have ever experienced.

Jamaica = GHETTO but..... once you pull up to it, it's the most beautiful island man. Just don't go on it.

I've been to Cancun, it's wonderful. I've heard some bad things about Jamaica - too many people trying to sell you drugs/girls and whatnot.

I went to Cancun last year. Stayed at the Moon Palace. I would really like to check out St. Lucia but it is a little on the $$$ side. I still may go there though. Any other suggestions on resorts?

I have heard that the Sandals in St. Lucia is fantastic. Some say it is the best Sandals resort avail. That is my trip this fall.

Which one. There are three Sandals resorts at St. Lucia. It is probably the new one.

I give my vote for Moon Palace in Cancun. One of the best vacations I've ever taken (even if it was the honeymoon :) ) The beach wasn't as spectacular as up in the hotel zone, but it was more than made up for in the accomodations/drinks/food/atmosphere.

jamaica was the best 10 days of my life...it is ghetto, but its also amazing...stayed with this super chill guy who has rooms less then 50 feet from the beach...when we had to leave early cause we were running low on cash he even gave us our money back for the nights we werent gonna be there!

and it was really cheap...like $50 a night for the rooms and we had 3 or 4 per room :)

I went to the Bahamas for spring break, and I was honestly a little disappointed. It was beautiful, but I just didn't find the cultural depth I like in a vacation spot (see: Europe). But if that doesn't concern you... Atlantis is definitely the bomb-diggity resort. If that's too rich for your blood, check out South Ocean (that's where I stayed). It's a 2 minute walk from the beach.

If you plan on exploring beyond your resort, don't do Jamaica.

If you're going to stay within the resort the whole time it's worth it. My wife and I stayed at the Sandals Ocho Rios in Jamaica in '98. It was great! The food was the BEST I've ever had. Anywhere. The drinks were strong and plentiful. The people were nice.

We did go outside the resort a couple of days, got offered drugs, no big deal for me tho'.

We also went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico two summers ago. That was cool too. Good food, people were polite as you could get. It was a time-share resort we stayed at (friends).

<-----In the mood to travel again.

The Moon Palace was great. You are right about the beach......to much seaweed. The other Palace Resorts on the strip had better beaches.

Hurricane season, get insurance.

Are you a diver, sun-worshiper, drinker, partier, single? All-inclusives have different themes.

Have fun.

BTW, Aruba is out of the hurricane belt.
