I have a compaq presario 1200US notebook and it's running on a 800MHz celeron with a VIA Apollo PLE133 chipset. The 1.0A celeron is based on the "newer" tualatin core, does anyone know if the tualatin core will work with my MB? or has anyone ever heard of a problem on trying to run the tualatin core on the PLE133 chipset? Also, I don't feel comfortable modding the processor. Any feedback is appreciated.

It depends if it's the "133" ot the "133T". The "T" version supports Tualatin CPU's, the non-T version doesn't.

I would just call the people that make your laptop

they'll atleast give you the official stance and maybe offer a bios upgrade if at all possible

good luck
