I'm getting a new socket 370 mobo with AGP4X, and just read that I won't be able to use my NVidia Riva TNT2 Ultra, 'cuz it's only AGP 1X, and the voltages are way different.

If you can hold off on dissing me for buying a socket 370 board, can you recommend a video card that won't cost me an arm and a leg? I play games, (was playing Dungeon Siege when my system got toasted), Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale (you get the picture). No Unreal, or anything like that. I don't have a DVD drive. I don't need TV in or out. Just a card comparable to my current board, but compatible with my new mobo.

Thanks for your help..........

I would go with a GeForce 3 Ti200 or Ati Radeon 8500LE. The 8500 LE with 128MB RAM is only about $100 so you can really get much of a better deal.

I see newegg carries a lot of OEM video cards, as well as retail.

Is there a big difference in the OEM boards vs. retail? In some cases, the price difference is substantial, i.e. Radeon 9000 Pro OEM = 89.00. Radeon 9000 Pro Retail = 129.00

And do I need to worry about whether there is a DVI to VGA adapter? I use a standard CRT monitor.

Usually the retail just have a better warrenty and support, but I'm not sure. And the 9000 comes with a standard CRT connection.
