Need help picking parts from scratch

I will be using this computer 99% for gaming.

My budget is around $2500

I live in the US so where ever is cheapest to buy from is best.

I'm not a fanboy of any particular brand. As long as all the parts get a long and run fast and smooth will work for me.

I don't need to buy a mouse/keyboard, monitor, speakers, case. I have everything except the innards of a new gaming pc.

I'm not sure if I want to over clock or not. I'm not very familiar with it for one thing. And also, I'm not sure if the gains would be worth the lifetime reduction of the parts. But I'm always up for suggestions.

I appreciate everyon'es input on this.

Sounds like our intents are similar, you may want to check out my suggested build. My budget is a little larger than yours but I have a monitor and some other unnecessary gadgets in there.

Personally, I don?t think you can go wrong with a Q6600, a 680i or P35 (preference) with 2-4GB of RAM and an 8800 Ultra. Take a look, I hope it helps a little!

EDIT: Link fixed!
