Need help picking out budget home theater

Update: Ok everything is set up, all 5 channels plus the sub and AVR are kickin'. So far I have listened to music, NFL football and the movie Super8. What is the best way to go about calibrating? I noticed that especially with the movie, the talking parts were a bit soft ( so I assume the center channel wasnt turned up high enough) and the parts where things exploded/popped out, the sound was overwhelming ( it's so loud my dog won't even go near the living room anymore D: D: ). I haven't read the manual yet, but what is the best thing to do here?
