I need a new flight stick and I need some help picking one out. I currently have an ancient thrustmaster. I need one with more bottons and features for some of the newer games like Mechwarrior 4. Is force feedback any good? Do only certain games support this? Not really concerned about price.

thanks,
Darrin

check out Saitek (spelling ? ) they have a reputation for being excellent flight sticks and throttles. Best buy has the pair for $99.

Saitek X36 USB. Best joystick out there. A very nice piece (just don't buy any of their other joys, they kinda suck). Usually goes for about 100$.

I personally use the Thrustmaster Afterburner Pro USB. It's not "real" looking (silver) but it's a damn fine joystick. Perfect for MECH 4 (what I bought it for). You have the option of rudder control. Either joystick twist, or the throttle has a lever that you depress left or right. No room for pedals :(

I see the Saitek X45 Digital Joystick at Compusa for $79. Is this similar to the X32?

if you are going to get a saitek make it the x36 usb. you can find tons of great reviews for it. same for the thrustmaster (about half the price).

If you want a cheaper model, go for the Saitek Cyborg 3D USB. Not as good as the X36, but if you don't need all the bells and whistles that comes with that, the Cyborg is a good joystick too.

I can not find the X32 even on the Saitek website. Is it an old model? What is wrong with the X45?

Nothing is wrong with the X45 if you want a real HOTAS with lots of buttons.
I recently got one to replace my analogue X36 and it is easier to proqramme.
Available at saitekusa.com for U$ 80, or camelot.ca for 130 CDN with free
delivery in Canada.
Logitech Strike Force 3D would be a good choice for Mech games.
