Hey guys,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this questions so I apologize if it's in the wrong forum. I'm trying to create a wiki that will be used as a portal for our clinical research/data group to use as a communication portal. I work in a coordinating center with a large number of studies and each person is responsible for a different set of these studies so the communication over email becomes very hairy. My group is looking into a wiki as a solution for this type of communication. I'm looking for a wiki with the following features:

- User friendly interface
- Good documentation of changes (VERY IMPORTANT for working in a sensitive research field)
- Access restriction - being good in situations in which I want to restrict access to parts of the wiki (i.e. Person A is working on studies 1 and 2 and Person B is working on 3 and 4. I would only want each person to have access to their own studies with their own accounts)
- Possible calendar and support for integrating excel spreadsheets

Thanks for any advice or being able to point me out to another place that may give me an answer!

I considered MediaWiki but from my understanding it's designed to be used for high traffic and often not suitable for situations where you want to restrict access to part of the wiki as it's focused for open content. I'm looking for a wiki that might serve better for a small group and restricting access.
