Need Help Picking a HS for XP 1800+ for Moderate OCing

I am planning on building a new system and would like to OC my new XP 1800+ just a bit. I am looking for a HeatSink that will keep my CPU cool but something that is not going to be too loud.

Here are my requirements:

1. Must be quiet...something less then 30~35 dba
2. Looking to spend about $25 or less for the fan and the HS
3. Must be able to cool a CPU that is slightly/moderately OC'd

Any suggestions on the HS and where to buy would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm willing to buy used ones so if someone has one that meets my requirements...shoot me a PM.

Thermaltake TR2 M2. Very cheap, very quiet and cools very well. It even comes with a three speed fan control, but it is still quiet on the highest speed. I have several, my Barton 2500+ @ 2300MHz runs 48C under full load, internal diode temp.

I use a SVC gc68 heatsink with a YS tech variable speed fan with my xp1800 and it's pretty quiet and very cheap. Five bucks for the heatsink and nine for the fan. I have it overclocked to 2300 MHz and it never goes over 49 while gaming in a warm room. I do increase the fan speed to keep her cooler during the warmer nights.

Has anyone tried the CG69 from SVC?

The website says it is an improved model from the CG68...was wondering if anyone has used this HS yet.

Speeze CPU Fan Model 5F263B1M3 for AMD/Intel Socket A/370

It may not look like much but it is and whats even better is its silent. In fact I have accidentally hit the power on my PC because I didnt hear it running. Overclocking its been excellent. All my machines run on these now.

Athlon 3000 running at 3300+ on this. Max Temp 44C
Athlon 2100 Running at 2700+ on this. Max Temp 41C
Athlon 1700 Running at 2400+ on this. Max Temp 41C

Dont believe me then Read the reviews on NewEgg on what others are doing and saying.

Thanks for all the suggestions. 😀

I think I'm going to get either the SVC CG69 or the Speeze from Newegg.

One thing I wanted to ask was if anyone had used the Thermaltake ducting mod and if it would help any with the airflow for either one of these HS models.

Thanks.
