I would definitely go with the 707. The R90 has slow seek times and had only regular recording length because it is only stuff. Do not listen to what the specs on that site says, the R90 does not have MDLP. Plus 707 has NETMD capability. For more information go here: link. For $150 the sony R90 is overpriced as well considering the limited functions it has.

EDIT: oh and if you are fretting over the remote on the 707 you can upgrade to this later on LCD remote.

I have the Sony MZ-R90. Oh how prices have gone down in the last 2-3 years. :p I would love to get one of the newer models with MDLP and NETMD. MistaEng is right, the R90 doesn't have MDLP. Check out minidisc.org for more information on MD products.

My opinion, MZ-N707.

Have you checked out the Sony N1? It also has net MD. Granted, the thing costs $350, but its slick. I have an MZ-R900 myself and love it. I think N1 is the replacement for the 900 (top of the line at the time). Keep in the mind that the 707 is not flat. There is a hump on the back for the AA battery whereas the N1 is flat. Might not be a big deal but it does fit in your pocket better.

Used to have the R90 and still loving it now. But as the others say, go with the newer technology. :D
