Need help. PC won't boot!

Hi all,
I posted on this earlier. I'm working on a machine on which I have been trying to change the Win Pro Key to a new one. I kept getting a message that "Win XP has already been activated". I downloaded and installed some sort of "activator" which I had to install in safe mode. After that the pc won't reboot. It keeps trying to boot but it just powers up and down in an endless loop.
Any ideas before I panic!! ???
