I just got a Logitech Pro4000 video cam and am using Yahoo Messernger and SightSpeed for video and sound to visit my son in Texas. I'm broadcasting via SDC DSL. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 8100. I'm using a 2Wire wireless PCMCIA card from SBC.
If I make video messages with the Pro4000 and save them, my voice is clear. However, when I try to talk to my son realtime via YM or SS using the built-in mic on the Pro4000, all you can hear is a buch of noise. I tried to move the camera around to different spots away from the speakers to cut down on possible feedback. It didn't help.
I've been told my problems will go away if I just buy a PC headset. The name Plantronics comes up on Yahoo searches for "PC headsets". Are they good? I don't want to spend tons of money...$50max.
Any suggestions???
