i am trying to overclock my duron 600 to 800 MHZ but it will only register as 600 with the dipswitches set for 800. here are the settings i used according to the latest manual from asus site-
i moved the jen jumper to pins 1-2
i set the FSB bus switches to all in on position for 100 MHZ FSB
i set the multiplier switches to all on except number 2 & 4
i looked at my duron and the L1 bridge is solid line, i also left the voltage switches alone on board and didin't change it in bios, would this prevent it from posting at 800? someone else from another forum told me the asus manual is wrong to read the switch settings in opposite way from what manual says, i tried that and got some kind of siren when i turned the power back on. had to turn power off and switch settings. i currently am running in jumper free mode at 107 MHZ FSB with optimal settings rock stable. would like to try 800 MHZ or higher but am at loss as to what i am doing wrong. i have 300 watt power supply and FOP-38 with 7200 RPM fan so i don't think that is factor here. also am running 1004D bios. thanx for any help anybody can provide.

You seem to get everything right. I use to have problem when I set mind to 800 cuz I wanna overclock the FSB instead of multiplier. Why don't just hit straight to 900 and see what happen. What week is your CPU's? Are you sure it unlocked?

when you say the L1 brige is a solid line you mean that each one of them is conected or that all of them are connected togeather.. they should be connected but not all as one........

i definitely recommend using a magnifying glass.

as far as the jumpers are concerned, just leave them all OFF or at their defualt setting and take care of business in the BIOS. it's a lot easier that way. there are three locations for the JEN jumpers, so make sure they're all in their default locations. top left should be 1-2, top right (right next to the multiplier switches) should be off, and bottom right should be 2-3. making all of your vcore and fsb changes in the bios is much much easier. the manual is wrong on page 18. they show that the top rght JEN needs to be on for jumper free, but that is incorrect.

it sounds to me like you haven't unlocked the l1 bridges since most durons can fly past 800mhz. give it a shot using the loctite kit if you want a permanent solution. do a search for loctite in this forum and look for a thread started by Vpham97. that's the most complete tutorial on doing the job i've seen.

good luck.
