Need help!! outlook express and a 486 /66 system

I am trying to help out a friend and get them online. All they have is a 486-66 with 24 meg ram. I formated the hard drive and installed win95. Put in explorer 5.01 and outlook express 5. Every time I click on new message in OE I get a out of memory error. I have unistalled and reinstalled, and reformated, and added memory (up to 36 meg). Can't figure it out. Has a 527 meg hard drive with over 300 meg free. Any help would be great.

You shouldn't of installed IE 5.01, it must run real slow. I would suggest 4.0.
