Need help - Ordered OEM by accident

As part of my build I accidentally ordered the OEM version of the my DVD drive (NEC ND-3550A) instead of the retail - missed the term "bare drive" in the description. You could understand my concern as this is my first build. Now all I have is the drive, with no cables, manual, software, drivers cd, etc.

zzf doesn't let you return DVD drives so that's not an option. What do you guys suggest? I don't want to end up missing something for the drive when I get ready to build.

all you need is an ide cable. i fyou bought a retail motherboard it will come with 1 or 2 so you'll be fine.
 
You can use XP's built in burning functionality, or there are plenty of companies out ther that carry OEM Nero copies for like $10. That's really the only thing you don't get with the OEM drive.
 
Oh cool. I def bought a retail mobo (the evga mobo that came free w/ the evga 7800gt offer from zzf).

When I got my NEC 3450 (retail) to install in my old Dell a few months ago it came w/ some Nero software, which was neat. I was hoping this was going to come with Nero too, but now that I got the OEM, no software.
 
Getting OEM is no biggie, one of my drives was bought OEM, the other wasn't. On the retail drive, I didn't even use the cables, manual, or CD at all.

😕 Simple interface, works great for burning CD's. Install DVDshrink, and it uses Nero for you to burn your DVD's. I have a full version now so I can use burning ROM, but I've used Express a lot. This isn't even close to "crap" IMO.

However, if you think it's crap, tell us why and let the OP know what program he should be looking to use instead.
