Need help on deciding between Samsung 900 NF or KDS AV-105TF!!!

I've read that Samsung has unusually noticeable horizontal pincushion prob.

Also read that KDS has "auto center" button to center and expand to full screen when you change resolutions.

This leans me toward purchasing KDS, BUT

Almost everything I've read prefer Samsung over KDS...

Does Samsung have "auto center" buttons (I think this is very very useful)?
How bad is hor pincushion prob with Samsung??

Both about same price... Which one?

Uhh... Phuz, Samsung 900NF uses Diamontron Tube(Aperture Grille) and I believe Samung Dynaflat monitors are actually flat Shadow Mask monitors NOT Aperture Grille.

KDS has the same tube as Sony Trinitron I think.

Well I just bought myself the KDS AV7TF tonight, the lil bro to the AV195TF (it's not AV105TF), and it's excellent! Text is very sharp, even in the corners and extremities. It uses the SONY Trinitron tube so you can't beat that. My brother and sister have had problems with their Samsung monitors (albeit not the 900NF model).

i just got the KDS AV-195TF tonight, i wouldn't say no to it =)

there's a 20% off rebate at Computers4Sure.com right now, check the Hot Deals forum for the ECS 20% promotion. it should be near $380, or at least under $400 after the rebate.

Just purchased KDS at Onvia... Samsung monitor was out of stock at Onvia, made my decision easier.

Already knew about the Comp4Sure discount but decided only vendor for me is Onvia for this purchase due to superior service (no charge on shipping back in case of probs) and since Onvia is no tax, no shipping charge, the difference between Comp4Sure and Onvia was about $40-50 without waiting for rebate for 12 weeks.

Thanks for all your input though.

my friend own a KDS 19" monitor, i don't know the model.

but the screen isn't that flat.!!! may be it is too big..
If they use Sony tube, isn't the screen extremely flat??
I have a Sony 200ES 17" monitor, i say this is very flat.

and the colour isn't that sharp too.
i don't have time to play with it(cuz it is my friend's), may be he set the brightness to high(kind of white).
Afterall, how can they sell a sony tube(from KDS) that cheap?
what is the difference?

WEll faye is about to spark some debate from some hardcore KDS fans. IF i had a dollar for everytime this has happened, i'd be a rich man, lol.

BTW, faye, if that KDs monitor isn't that sharp, it isn't using the sony trintron tube AND it isn't the new KDS AV-195 TF.

oh, KDS makes non sony tube monitors, is that what u mean?

BTW, my friend just bought a Samsung 955(SL, DL ..??) 19" monitor.
wow, The colour is very sharp, flat screen. But this monitor has a very very big butt.

Overall(just a few minutes of watching him playing SOF), i like this monitor :)

What is the difference btwn 900NF and 955(??)?
cuz 955 is cheaper.

i want to buy one for myself too. know of a good place that will ship to Vancouver(Canada)?

I think you're speaking of the Samsung 955DF. It uses the DynaFlat tube instead of the natural flat, but the 900NF supports higher resolutions and refresh rates.

WEll the important thing is that the DynaFlat tube i think uses Invar Shadow mask technology where the NAtural Flat tube uses the new FD trintron technology.

Oh well, Faye...everyone has a big butt...let's talk about your big but..
KDS has several lines of monitors
Their Visual Sensations line is regular CRT monitors that use tubes manuf by Samsung
The Avitron line is FD Trinitron tubes from Sony
And if you have big bucks they make a line of flat panel monitors also.
