Hello,

I am new and I do not know much about computer, please teach me if you could

I am using Windows XP Pro. SP2. Norton Antivirus, Ad-Aware SE Pro and Cable to access the Internet. Last month my system got virus ... IE did not turn to the page that I wanted but about Blank ... Norton Antivirus was disable => I have to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows.

Last week, while I was reading the news, I found some cute animation pictures on that page, I save the image in my folder, then continue reading news... a few minutes later, the animation picture on that page became frozen ... from that point, all animation pictures that I have on my folder did not show as animation pictures any more ... I tried to scan my Windows ... and I realize that Ad-aware Pro was not able to update its new definition ... it was disable somehow I did not know what to do with it.

I tried to use Windows restore at an early date based on my Ad-aware last definition date but the problem is still there

What should I do now ?

thanks

I think you are saying you downloaded an animated GIF file is for it wouldn't show it anatmated unless you opened it in IE or Firefox I beleive.

thanks for reply

?
My Windows is still able to see animation pictures on web-page ...; but whenever I right click to ?save image as? to my folder ... even my Windows is still able to save the image with the corrected file name "*.gif" ... my Windows did not display them as animation picture as it was shown on the web when I double click the "*.gif" file on my folder to view the picture

When you save it, the file suffix has to be .GIF. And to view it, you have to have a viewer that can run animations.

I save them and use them every day in my email in Outlook Express. If the animation is saved as a .GIF file, then it will animate in OE!

Its been a long time since I've used either one, but can I assume that Image Viewer and Paint dont play animated GIF's?
